We want to keep our team in the company for a long time to come, which is why, in addition to a wide range of job offers and the many benefits we have in place, our corporate culture is solidly based on lived appreciation of one another.
Together we can make a difference. The team-driven commitment of our employees is an important part of our success. That’s why we believe in treating each other fairly, showing appreciation, mutual respect and recognition.
Training and skills enhancement: individual support
Delicious biscuits and successfully completing an apprenticeship or traineeship are a tradition in our company. Every year our apprentices and trainees are among the best in the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s final exams. The quality of our training is just as crucially important to us as our extensive HR development scheme set up to help us all in our on-going development.
Whether it’s starting a career in one of our recognised trades or occupations or in one of our dual study programmes, whether it’s continuous further training or advanced vocational training or the development of managers: our aim is to provide bespoke talent management. And a comprehensive feedback system and individual development planning are just as central to this aim as a detailed and controlled onboarding process.
The cooperation between the Works Council and management is characterised by mutual respect and open communication. Together we put our energies into looking after the interests of our employees and to creating a family atmosphere in which everyone feels valued and supported.
Karl-Heinz Löhr, Works Council Chairman
Griesson - de Beukelaer is open to new, more sustainable ideas and it is the variety that comes with this that makes my job so interesting. Take Cereola with ChoViva for example. Here we have developed a new biscuit with a cocoa-free alternative – going right from the recipe to producing it in our modern facilities. An exciting challenge!
Christoph Koch, Product Developer
We introduce our trainees and apprentices to new areas of interest and innovative technologies. For instance the ‘Cobot’ project had our apprentice electronics technicians and industrial mechanics assemble and program a collaborative robot. Nothing like this is in any training programme but it makes for a huge amount of knowledge and self-reliance.
Volker Weckbecker, Head of Commercial and Technical Training
Occupational health & safety: safe and healthy
To ensure workplaces are safe, we see as vital our efficiently run occupational health and safety organisation as well as our full range of preventive measures. These include holding occupational health and safety days, and carrying out audits, inspections and occupational health screening. In addition, we offer our employees a company health insurance scheme. The budget funding this scheme enables them to access services such as seeing aids, remedies and medical devices, preventive care and the like.
Our factories in Polch, Kahla and Wurzen are audited in accordance with the SMETA social standard. Regular factory tours see auditors peering over our shoulders and checking that we are complying with labour laws, health and safety standards, environmental standards and business ethics.
Living diversity: Griesson - de Beukelaer is colourful
Our employees originate from 47 different countries. This is certainly an enrichment for the departments and teams but it is also a challenge – and one which we happily rise to. In order to overcome language barriers, we provide support in the form of language courses and we strengthen the sense of unity and team spirit with patience and empathy, for only those who feel comfortable and valued will be happy to remain part of our team for a long time.
Social engagement: our partners in the region
Our roots go down deep where our sites are located. Being good neighbours, we are actively involved in the region and support social, cultural and sports clubs and institutions, as well as events and projects in Polch, Kahla and Wurzen. This was very much a conscious decision on our part and done to underline our regional ties with our locations.
